🏃♂️ Meeting Lindon Victor – Decathlon Star at World Athletics Tokyo
The World Athletics Championships 2025, returning to Tokyo for the first time in 34 years, have been the talk of the city and entire Japan —and we had the special opportunity to meet Lindon Victor, bronze medalist in the decathlon at the Paris Olympics 2024 & World Athletics 2023 at Budapest, along with his team.
Lindon, a national hero in Grenada, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his achievements. We were honored to connect with him thanks to a long-standing relationship—he’s been a dedicated user of the Flexcushion for years. We were truly grateful for the chance.
Following that, we had dinner with his team: Mr. Benny Vaughn, his athletic trainer, and Ms. Holly, his manager.
Mr. Benny Vaughn is a legendary athletic trainer & therapist. Mr. Benny Vaughn and I go way back—we first met in June 2010 at the NATA (National Athletic Trainers’ Association) convention in Philadelphia. Over the years, he has worked as an athletic trainer & a therapist for the U.S. National Track & Field team, participating in four Olympic Games. Today, he is based in Texas, providing care and support for Lindon’s training. It was a joy to reconnect after so many years.
🏅 About the Decathlon
The decathlon is often called the “King of Athletes” event. It consists of 10 disciplines over two days, testing all-around athletic ability—speed, power, endurance, and mental focus. While talking with Lindon and Benny, we learned a great deal about the sport. Every athlete has strong and weak events, and mental preparation is just as important as physical skill. It’s a truly demanding competition, both physically and psychologically.
